GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University Esports program has announced the addition of two new games, Rainbow 6 Siege and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. Arcadia will begin competing in these games during the Spring 2021 semester with on-campus interest for current students.
The additions bring the program's sponsored games to six, as the Knights competed in Hearthstone, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Rocket League in the program's inaugural season of varsity competition in 2019-20.
"We are excited to announce the addition of these two games, which we hope will allow us to expand our team and continue to grow our program," Director of Esports, Tim Belloff, said.
Rainbow 6 Siege is a team-based, tactical game that features 5v5 team gameplay, and is an up-and-coming Esports game.
Super Smash Brothers Ultimate is a 1v1 fighting game that has emerged as one of the most popular titles in the gaming community. The roster will feature three-player teams facing off against other programs across the country.
"I am so excited to see that Arcadia Esports will be expanding after such a successful first year," Assistant Director of Esports, Bill Rodgers, remarked. "I look forward to the growth of our program and all of the things to come in the future."
