GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University Rocket League team continued its spring slate, highlighted a 3-0 victory over Army West Point.
ARCADIA 0, NORTH CENTRAL TECHNICAL 3
Game 1: Arcadia looked to get back in the win column vs NTC. NTC struck first in the opening seconds, then tacked on a second at the mid way point. Ben Baron responded back immediately to draw the Knights with in one. NTC kept the pressure on and found another goal. Baron once again kept the Knights in the game, followed by a
Jon Zhang goal to tie it. In the end NTC found the game winner, 4-3 NTC.
Game 2:
Jon Zhang drew the first goal for Arcadia in game 2, but NTC was able to tie it up with under a minute to go. Forced into OT Arcadia's defense could not hold under the pressure of NTC. 2-1, NTC.
Game 3:
Jon Zhang was able to open the scoring again in game 2. The relentless pressure of NTC was apparent again when they tied the game at one. Ben Baron was able to put the Knights ahead with a goal at the halfway point. A goal in the final seconds by NTC cemented the series. 3-2, NTC.
ARCADIA 1, UMD BLACK 2
Game 1: Will Costa scored the opening goal of the tournament in the first seconds off of a
Jon Zhang assist. Ben Baron would find the back of the net to put the Knights up a goal at the midpoint. UMD Black would fight their way onto the lead with 2 minutes remaining. UMD would forced OT with a tying goal with 5 seconds left, but Arcadia would take game 1, 6-5.
Game 2: Roles were reversed in game 2, UMD put up 3 goals before the minute mark. UMD Black would have their way, shutting out the Knights until the waning seconds, 6-1 UMD.
Game 3: Arcadia lost a tough match to end the series. A back and forth game with goals from Baron and Zhang went into OT and didn't go Arcadia's way.
ARCADIA 3, ARMY WEST POINT 0
Game 1: Knights scored first with a Ben Baron goal. Arcadia jumped out 2-0 with another Baron goal LaBar assist. Ben Baron piled on another goal, followed by 2
Jon Zhang goals.
Game 2: Ben Baron started things off again with a solo goal.
Jon Zhang helped Baron score his second goal, Then Ben returned the favor giving Jon his first of the game.Â
Game 3: West Point came to life jumping out 2-0 in a game that could end the series. Zack LaBar answered at the midpoint, with the Knights only trailing by 1.
Jon Zhang and Ben Baron's late goals gave Arcadia the series sweep.
