GLENSIDE, Pa. – Coming off a fifth consecutive trip to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Tournament, the Arcadia University men's volleyball team is set to begin its quest to continue that streak in 2024 on Saturday, welcoming Baruch to Alumni Gymnasium.
Head Coach
Adam Hamad enters his second season at the helm for the Knights, posting a 17-11 record and 7-2 conference record in 2023. Arcadia also garnered its first national ranking last season, its first since 2020.
"I think we're on that right drive to get back to (the tournament) again," Hamad said. "We have a lot of talent; we have some solid returners that can really propel us back to get into the tournament and hopefully make some noise."
The Knights bring back nine returners from a year ago, including senior
Danny Gonzalez, who has named an All-MAC Honorable Mention player last season. Arcadia also returns
Ryan Miller, who played in every match a season ago.
Arcadia brings in a four-man first-year class, as
Terrell Turner,
Trevor Johnson,
Connor Hills and
Kaleb Hecksher are all set for their first collegiate seasons.
"I wouldn't be surprised if you see (the newcomers) at one point in the year to potentially make some starts or come in as a serving sub or a blocking sub," Hamad said. "It's a talented class, just have to put some things together, but I think they're going to surprise quite a few people."
After a first month of non-conference matchups, The Knights open up MAC play on Wednesday, March 6 as they travel to Widener.
