Box Score STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference game with Western Connecticut State (WestConn), 12-5, on Saturday afternoon at Stony Brook University.
The Knights are now 1-2 on the season.
Five different goal scorers found the back of the net for Arcadia as
Billy Burton,
Kyle McLaughlin,
Dylan Garber,
Andrew Borum and
Tristan Johnson all tallied goals.
Two Knights split goalkeeping duties on Saturday afternoon as
Joseph Tesler got the start and made seven saves.
Nathaniel Hudgins entered the game in relief and made 12 saves.
WESTCONN 12, ARCADIA 5
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Johnson scored the game's first goal, giving Arcadia a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the contest. WestConn scored the next four goals of the first quarter, as it held a three-goal advantage after the opening 15 minutes of play.
- Garber cut the Knights deficit to 4-2 with an early second quarter score. Once again, WestConn closed the quarter on a 4-0 run as it led 8-2 going into halftime.
- The Knights outscored WestConn in the third quarter, 3-2, as Burton, McLaughlin and Borum put the Knights on the board.
- WestConn scored both goals of the fourth quarter as it closed out its 12-5 victory.
