Overwatch Ranked 23rd in Nation as Esports Continues Fall Seasons

GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University Esports programs continued fall semester play, with the Overwatch program ranked 23rd in the Division I Esports National Rankings.

OVERWATCH

Fresh off earning a national ranking, the Arcadia University Overwatch team faced off with UC Santa Barbera, earning a 3-2 win. After dropping the first two maps, the Knights rallied on King's Row to get back into the match. Arcadia knotted the score with a victory on Esperanca, aided by a speedy push. The winner-take-all game on Aatlis went to Arcadia, completing the reverse sweep.

SUPER SMASH BROTHERS ULTIMATE

The Arcadia University Super Smash Bros Ultimate team matched up with Eastern, taking a 2-0 win. In game oen Zydeek Perez took four stocks in a 4-0 win. In game two, Karah Daniels had a career day, taking seven stocks to give the Knights a 6-0 win, moving the team to 3-0 for the season.

ROCKET LEAGUE

The Arcadia University Rocket League team defeated Curry College 4-2 this past week. The match went into the sixth game, where the Knights dominated in a 5-1 win to seal the victory. 

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

The Arcadia University League of Legends team swept Pace University 2-0. From the draft phase the Knights set themselves up for success, securing three winning lanes in both games. Arcadia used strong lane control, coordinated map pressure, and clean macro play led to a start-to-finish victory. The Knights performance left Pace little room to maneuver as Arcadia closed out the sweep.

VALORANT

The Arcadia University Valorant program faced Wilkes, falling 2-0. In game one on Bind, the Knights struggled to gain their footing, falling 13-4 before server issues delayed the conclusion of the match until a later date. Once the match resumed two days later, on Sunset, Arcadia attempted to get back into the match but ultimately dropped the game
13-11 and the match 2-0.
