EGG HARBOR CITY, N.J. – The Arcadia University women's golf team was back on the course Sunday, competing in the Stockton Fall Invitational with Stockton University and Albright College at Blue Heron Pines Golf Course. Blue Heron Pines is a par-72 course, playing 5,604 yards. The Knights finished third in the three-team field, shooting a 449 (+161). Stockton took first place with a +103 (391), while Albright finished second at +142 (430). Leading the way for Arcadia was Taylor Gardner, who carded a +17 (89) to finish in second place overall.

Gardner, who previously competed at Blue Heron Pines earlier this season, improved on her earlier round of 92 by three strokes to secure a runner-up finish. On the front nine, Gardner shot a 44 (+8). After going +6 over par in her first three holes, she steadied her round by carding five pars, including four straight to close out the front. On the back nine, Gardner shot a 45 (+9), picking up two more pars on holes 11 and 13.

Cristy Gori finished second for the Knights with a +40 (112), earning a ninth-place finish. Gori shot a 60 (+24) on the front nine, picking up her lone par on the third hole. On the back, she improved by eight strokes, carding a 52 (+16) with two additional pars.

Mairead O'Connell placed third for Arcadia with a 123 (+51), finishing in a tie for 12th. O'Connell shot a 58 (+22) on the front and a 65 (+29) on the back.

Rounding out the scoring for the Knights was Gianni Straughter, who tied for 14th place after shooting a 125 (+53). Straughter carded a 62 (+26) on the front nine and followed with a 63 (+27) on the back.

Stockton captured the team title, holding off Albright by 39 strokes. Ilaira Catania from Albright earned medalist honors, edging out Gardner by three strokes with an 86.

The Knights will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule on Monday when they take part in the Lebanon Valley Fall Invitational, hosted by Lebanon Valley College at Lebanon Country Club.
