Knights Wrap Up Day One of Golden Oaks Shootout in Seventh Place

FLEETWOOD, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's golf team hosted round one of the Golden Oaks Shootout on Saturday at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. The course played as a par 72, spanning 6,648 yards. After the opening round, the Knights sit in seventh place in the nine-team field with a team score of 320 (+32). Leading the way for Arcadia were Hayden Williamson and Matteo Patitucci, who each carded a 79 (+7).

Williamson, who has now recorded back-to-back rounds in the 70s, is tied for 20th after day one. On the front nine, he shot 38 (+2), highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 fifth hole and five pars. Williamson followed with a 41 (+5) on the back nine, adding another birdie on the 16th hole and five additional pars for a consistent round.

Patitucci opened with a 43 (+7) on the front nine, carding a birdie on the par-5 fifth hole and three pars. He caught fire on the back nine, posting an even-par 36 that included two birdies, six pars, and just one bogey.

Frankie Sass finished third for the Knights and is tied for 27th overall after shooting an 80 (+8). Sass opened his round with a par on the first hole and a birdie on the fifth, adding two more pars for a 40 (+4) on the front. He matched that with another 40 (+4) on the back nine, closing strong with four pars and a birdie on the 18th hole.

Nicky Antonelli rounded out Arcadia's scoring with an 82 (+10), placing him in a tie for 31st. Antonelli shot a 43 (+7) on the front nine, with three pars and a birdie on the sixth hole. He improved by four strokes on the back nine, posting a 39 (+3) that featured four pars and a birdie on the 11th.

Tony Antonelli's 84 (+12) did not contribute to the team score but placed him in a tie for 37th overall. He opened with a 46 (+10) that included four consecutive pars, then improved by eight strokes on the back nine, carding two birdies and four additional pars.

Competing as individuals, Justin Madden and Chad Jones represented Arcadia in the field. Madden finished with a 92 (+20), tied for 47th, recording birdies on the third and fifth holes and a par on the ninth. He matched his 46 (+10) on the back with five pars, including a closing stretch of four straight. Jones shot a 100 (+28) to finish 51st, tallying a 49 (+13) on the front with one par and a 51 on the back.

JWU–Charlotte leads the team standings after day one with a 295 (+7), three strokes ahead of Albright. Federico Cobos Kallmann of Albright and Phelps Wang of Swarthmore share the individual lead at two under par (-2).

The Knights will return to Golden Oaks Golf Club on Monday morning to conclude play in round two of the Golden Oaks Shootout.
