Men's Golf Sit Third After Opening Round of MAC Freedom Championship

LEBANON, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's golf team opened play at the 2026 MAC Freedom Championship on Saturday at Iron Valley Golf Club. After round one, the Knights sit in third place in the eight-team field with a team score of 330 (+42). Iron Valley is a par 72 course playing 6,658 yards.

Hayden Williamson paced the Knights and is in solo eighth place after carding an 81 (+9).

HOW IT HAPPENED

Williamson turned in a balanced round, shooting 39 (+3) on the front nine and 42 (+6) on the back. He opened with back-to-back pars and recorded his lone birdie of the day on the par-3 fifth hole, finishing the front with two additional pars. On the back nine, Williamson added five more pars to secure his spot in eighth place.

Tony Antonelli finished second for Arcadia with an 82 (+10) and is tied for ninth. After starting +5 through his first two holes, Antonelli responded with a birdie on the third and settled in with five pars over the remainder of the front nine, including a stretch of three straight on holes four through six, to shoot 41 (+5). He matched that score on the back nine, adding six pars.

Frankie Sass carded an 83 (+11) and is tied for 12th. Sass recorded a 40 (+4) on the front with six pars, including two separate stretches of back-to-back pars. He followed with a 43 (+7) on the back, highlighted by five pars.

Nicky Antonelli rounded out the team scoring with an 84 (+12), placing him in a tie for 14th. He posted a 39 (+3) on the front, highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 fourth hole, along with four pars. On the back nine, Antonelli shot 45 (+9) with three pars.

Justin Madden finished with a 97 (+25), but his score did not factor into the team total. Madden shot 50 (+14) on the front and 47 (+11) on the back, recording four pars overall. He is currently tied for 38th.

Stevens Institute leads the field after day one with a 297 (+9), while Lebanon Valley sits in second at 326 (+38), four strokes ahead of Arcadia. DeSales (+50), King's (+62), FDU-Florham (+64), Delaware Valley (+69), and Misericordia (+71) round out the standings. Stevens' Jack Harris leads the individual field at 3-under par, holding a six-stroke advantage.

The Knights will return to Iron Valley Golf Club on Sunday morning for the final round of the MAC Freedom Championship.
