WILLINGBORO, N.J. – The Arcadia University men's golf team captured the team title at its spring invitational, held at Rancocas Golf Club on Sunday. The Knights finished first in the three-team field with a score of 342 (+58) while battling difficult conditions that included steady rain and gusting winds throughout the round.
Tony Antonelli and Justin Madden led the way for Arcadia, each carding an 84 (+13) to finish tied for second overall.
Antonelli recorded a 42 (+7) on the front nine with four pars and matched that score on the back with a 42 (+6), adding three more pars to his round.
Madden also posted consistent play, shooting 42 on both the front and back nines. He recorded three pars on the front and added four more on the back.
Frankie Sass finished third for the Knights and fifth overall with an 85 (+14). Sass opened with a 43 (+8) on the front, recording three pars, and improved by a stroke on the back with a 42 (+6). He also recorded the Knights' lone birdie of the day on the 18th hole.
Hayden Williamson rounded out the team scoring with an 89 (+18), placing seventh overall. Williamson shot a 43 (+8) on the front with three pars and followed with a 46 (+10) on the back, adding a par on the 10th hole.
Nicky Antonelli carded a 91 (+20), but his score did not factor into the team total. After a 49 (+14) on the front, he improved by seven strokes on the back with a 42 (+6), finishing tied for eighth place.
Chad Jones, competing as an individual, also shot a 91 (+20) to tie for eighth. He posted a 43 (+8) on the front with three pars and followed with a 48 (+12) on the back, recording a par on the 11th hole.
Dan McColgan of Delaware Valley earned medalist honors with an 82 (+11), edging Antonelli and Madden by two strokes. Arcadia's 342 (+58) secured the team title, followed by Delaware Valley in second with a 356 (+72) and Stockton's club team in third with a 370 (+86).

The Knights will look ahead to the MAC Championship, set for Saturday and Sunday at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
