FLEETWOOD, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's golf team hosted round one of the Golden Oaks Shootout on Saturday at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. The course played as a par 72, measuring 5,502 yards. After the opening round, the Knights sit in eighth place in the eight-team field with a team score of 446 (+158). Leading the way for Arcadia was Taylor Gardner, who carded an 87 (+15).
Gardner, tied for 15th overall after day one, turned in a strong front nine with a 40 (+4) that included five pars. On the back, she recorded a 47 (+11) with three additional pars to close out her round.
Mairead O'Connell finished second for the Knights with a 112 (+40), placing her in 43rd overall. O'Connell shot a 57 on the front nine and improved by two strokes with a 55 on the back, recording one par on each side.
Cristy Gori was third for Arcadia, posting a 116 (+44) to finish in 45th place. Gori shot a 57 on the front and followed with a 59 on the back nine.
Rounding out the scoring for the Knights was Gianni Straughter, who finished in 49th place with a 131 (+59). Straughter recorded a 66 on the front and a 65 on the back.
Marymount University leads the team standings after day one with a 311 (+23). Eunice Chang of Marymount holds the individual lead after shooting a 75 (+3).

The Knights will return to Golden Oaks Golf Club on Monday morning to conclude play in round two of the Golden Oaks Shootout.
