GLENSIDE - It was another busy week inside the Esports Arena as the Arcadia University Esports programs continued play.
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
The Arcadia League of Legends team faced off with the College of the Holy Cross Crusaders, dropping a 2-0 decision. Arcadia chose a "bunker down" composition, one that relied on defensive picks designed to weather the Crusaders' early-game pressure and scale into the late game. The Crusaders pushed through Arcadia's defenses and secured the win.
Later in the week, the Knights faced Ithaca, another 2-0 defeat. Arcadia's League of Legends match against Ithaca Blue marked the conclusion of both teams' seasons. Despite the relaxed atmosphere, Arcadia kept both games close, showing solid resilience and competitive spirit throughout. Arcadia's League team looks to come back stronger next season to make it back to the finals as they were in Fall.
ROCKET LEAGUE
The Arcadia Rocket League team faced off with Fuel Esports Academy this week, notching a 3-2 win. Each of Arcadia's players delivered a standout performance, contributing to their flawless 7-0 season and securing their spot in the playoffs.
Andrew Lindenmuth had a standout performance, playing a crucial role in nearly 80% of the goals scored, showcasing his skill and ability to make impactful plays.
OVERWATCH
The Arcadia Overwatch team took on Briar Cliff Chargers, a 3-0 defeat. Arcadia made Game one incredibly close, showing that they weren't backing down easily.
Jack Santosusso's standout performance on King's Row in Game two nearly turned the tide for Arcadia. As Arcadia was about to tie the match, Briar Cliff's ability to hold their ground under that kind of pressure showed as they took the round. In game three, Briar Cliff was able to secure the win.
