EASTON, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's golf team placed 10th out of 15 teams at the Northampton Cup, hosted by Albright College at Northampton Country Club. The par-72, 6,669-yard course proved a challenge, but junior Tony Antonelli led the Knights with a top-15 individual finish.
Antonelli tied for 15th overall with a round of 76 (+4), carding matching 38s (+2) on the front and back nines. He opened with two pars before picking up birdies on the third and seventh holes, adding another par on the fifth. On the back nine, Antonelli started with a par, added a birdie on the 11th hole, and strung together three consecutive pars to close strong.
Senior Frankie Sass was next for Arcadia, finishing in a tie for 34th with an 81 (+9). Sass struggled early with a 46 (+10) on the front, but rebounded with a stellar back nine of 35 (+1), highlighted by two birdies and six pars, including a stretch of five straight pars to close.
Sophomore Matteo Patitucci tied for 44th overall with an 83 (+11). He posted a 42 (+6) on the front with five pars before improving to a 41 (+5) on the back, adding three more pars and a birdie on the 16th hole.
Junior Hayden Williamson rounded out Arcadia's scoring four with an 84 (+12). He carded a 43 (+7) on the front with two pars and a birdie on the ninth, followed by a 41 (+5) on the back that included five pars.
Junior Nicky Antonelli's 85 (+13) did not contribute to the team score, though he recorded a 41 (+5) on the front with four pars and a 44 (+8) on the back with three pars.
The Albright "A" team captured the overall title with a 298 (+10), narrowly edging Moravian by one stroke. Susquehanna's Jax Puskar and Moravian's Zach Miller shared medalist honors after each carded a 69 (-3).
