UPPERCO, Md. – The Arcadia University men's golf team competed Monday at the Stevenson Fall Invitational, hosted at Piney Branch Golf Club. The par-71, 6,701-yard course tested the 13-team field, with the Knights finishing eighth overall after carding a 324 (+40). Junior Hayden Williamson paced Arcadia with a top-10 finish.
Williamson recorded his first top-10 result and sub-80 score of the fall season, tying for eighth place with a round of 77 (+6). He went out in even-par 36, opening with five straight pars and adding two birdies to offset two bogeys. On the back nine, Williamson shot a 41 (+6), highlighted by a par on the 14th hole and a birdie on the par-4 18th.
Senior Frankie Sass and junior Nicky Antonelli each shot rounds of 81 (+10), tying for 29th overall. Sass opened with a 42 (+6) on the front nine that included five pars before rebounding with a 39 (+4) on the back, finishing with six consecutive pars. Antonelli posted a 40 (+4) on the front with six straight pars and followed with a 41 (+6) on the back, where he added five more pars.
Junior Tony Antonelli and sophomore Matteo Patitucci rounded out Arcadia's scoring with matching 85s (+14). Antonelli shot a 41 (+5) on the front nine, highlighted by a birdie on the eighth hole and three pars, before closing with a 44 (+9) on the back that included three pars. Patitucci recorded a 43 (+7) on the front, picking up a birdie on the sixth hole along with three pars, and improved by one stroke on the back with a 42 (+7) and four more pars.
Bridgewater College's "B" team claimed the team title with a 299 (+15), seven strokes ahead of host Stevenson. Medalist honors went to Will Layton, from Bridgewater, who shot a 70 (-1), the only score under par on the day.
