Women's Golf Finishes Mid-Pack at Championship Preview

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's golf team returned to the course to compete in a preview of the MAC Championship at Berkleigh Golf Club, hosted by Albright. The Knights finished fifth in the eight-team field with a score of 396 (+108). Berkleigh played as a par-72 course at 5,155 yards.

Taylor Gardner paced Arcadia with a 16-over 88, finishing eighth overall.

Gardner recorded matching scores on each nine, shooting 45 (+8) on the front and 43 (+8) on the back. She tallied four pars on the front and added three more on the back in a consistent round.

Katherine Gaffney finished tied for 18th with a 25-over 97. She carded a 12-over 49 on the front nine, highlighted by three pars, including back-to-back pars on holes eight and nine. On the back, Gaffney shot a 13-over 48, opening with a par on the 10th hole and adding her lone birdie of the round on the par-3 12th.

Cristy Gori placed third for the Knights and tied for 24th overall with a 29-over 101. She posted a 14-over 51 on the front nine with three pars, including consecutive pars to open the round, before shooting a 15-over 50 on the back.

Kaitlyn Clark rounded out the team scoring with a 38-over 110, tying for 34th place. She shot a 16-over 53 on the front nine and followed with a 57 on the back, recording a par on the 17th hole.

Laini Scott carded a 56-over 128, which did not count toward the team score. She shot a 25-over 62 on the front with a par on the second hole and followed with a 31-over 66 on the back.

York claimed the team title with a 43-over 331, finishing 42 strokes ahead of Hood. Lebanon Valley placed third at 99-over 387, followed by Misericordia at 101-over 389 and Arcadia at 108-over 396. The Knights edged Albright by one stroke, as the Lions finished at 109-over 397. Eastern (120-over) and FDU-Florham (136-over) rounded out the field.

Grace Spielman of Alvernia, competing as an individual, earned medalist honors with a 1-under 71, while Lebanon Valley's Jillian Fidler finished second with an even-par 72.
