Complete ResultsGLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's swimming team dropped its final dual meet of the 2014-15 season 156-102 to visiting Widener University Saturday afternoon at Lenox Pool. Seniors David Battistelli, Alex Ganguzza and Stewart Wanser were honored in a Senior Day ceremony prior to the meet.
Junior Timothy Graham won the 200 butterfly with a facility record time of 2:02.03, while Ganguzza was the runner-up in 2:13.35. Graham also went on to win the 100 butterfly in 55.17, followed by Ganguzza in second (55.78) and freshman Jacob Schellinger in third (55.84). Sophomore Eric Lam won the 100 and 200 backstroke with respective times of 55.98 seconds and 2:02.93 before winning the 200 IM in a pool record time of 2:03.68, edging out Graham's second-place time of 2:04.74.
Sophomore Matthew Morano was the runner up in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.34 and placed third in the 50 and 100 freestyle with respective times of 22.86 seconds and 49.89 seconds. Widener's Ian Gaynor won the 50 (21.70), 100 (47.56) and 200 freestyle (1:47.34), setting new pool records in the process.
Freshman Chris Nicolescu placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.96, which was just 0.15 seconds off the winning pace of Widener's Andy Madore, who touched the wall in 1:03.81, while classmate Anthony Crane placed second in the 500 freestyle after clocking in at 5:14.43. Fellow freshman Mark Tieleman took third in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.25)
The Knights will next compete at the 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships February 12-15 at the Graham Aquatic Center in York.
