GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia Hearthstone teams each picked up a victory over Virginia Tech in Tespa Open Split 2 action, both coming away with 3-2 victories in winner-take-all game fives.
TESPA OPEN SPLIT 2
ARCADIA (A) 3, VIRGINIA TECH 2
Pregame: The Knights' new-look A team of Aidan Sthultrager,
Henry Ryder, and
Mason Cole looked to start the second Tespa split off with a win against Virginia Tech.
Game 1: The Knights won game one off of an admin's ruling after there were some pregame mishaps.
Game 2: The Knights lost game two on their control warrior against the pure paladin of Virginia Tech.
Game 3: The Hokies looked strong in game three with a close win with their highlander hunter over the Knights' control warrior.
Game 4: The Knights battled back and evened the series at two with a win over Virginia Tech's soul demon hunter.
Game 5: The Knights were able to take home the demon hunter mirror and take the series, 3-2, to jump to 1-0 in Tespa open play.
ARCADIA (B) 2, TORONTO 3
Pregame: The Knights' B team for split two was comprised of
Corey Klevan and
Joel Anderson took on a top-20 program in the University of Toronto.
Game 1: The Knights won game one on their warrior against the Toronto bomb warrior.
Game 2: The bomb warrior of Toronto secured the win this time against the Knights' soul demon hunter.
Game 3: The Knights' rogue lost to the Toronto paladin deck after a hard-fought match.
Game 4: The Knights evened up the series at 2-2 with a close demon hunter mirror.
Game 5: The Knights fell short in game five, unable able to secure the win with their secret rogue to drop the series, 3-2.
ARCADIA (A) 1, WM HS CLUB 3
Game 1: The Arcadia squad of Aidan Sthultrager,
Henry Ryder, and
Mason Cole looked to move to 2-0 in split two of the Tespa open division. Their control warrior dominated game one and gave the Knights a 1-0 series lead.
Game 2: WM came back in game two with their bomb warrior and defeated the Knights' control priest.
Game 3: Things looked bleak for the Knights as they dropped the soul demon hunter mirror in a close match.
Game 4: The Knights were unable to deal with the pressure of WM's face hunter and dropped the series, 3-1, to move to 1-1 in the split.
ARCADIA (B) 0, ASHLAND PURPLE 3
Game 1: The Knights' team of
Joel Anderson and
Corey Klevan fell in game one on their paladin versus Ashland's soul demon hunter.
Game 2: The Knights were unable to get their footing on their enrage warrior in game two, falling to a highlander mage.
Game 3: The Knights could not keep up with the pressure of Ashland's face hunter and fell 3-0 in the series, moving the Knights to 0-2.
ARCADIA (A) 0, JAMES MADISON 3
Game 1: The Knights A team of Aidan Sthultrager,
Henry Ryder and
Mason Cole took on James Madison in Round 3 of Tespa Open Division Split 2 play. The Knights fell in game one on their paladin against the galakrond rogue of JMU.
Game 2: JMU kept the pressure going in game two as they took the win with their guardian druid over the Knights' control warrior.
Game 3: The Knights were unable to battle back and avoid the 3-0 sweep, as JMU's highlander mage took a wild win over the Knights' control priest.
ARCADIA (B) 3, VIRGINIA TECH 2
Game 1: The Knights started off strong with a win on their demon hunter versus the Hokies' highlander priest.Â
Game 2: The Hokies fought back against the face hunter deck of the Knights to even the series at one.
Game 3: The Knights made a smart switch to their paladin list and secured the victory over Virginia Tech's highlander hunter.
Game 4: In a wild game four, the Knights fell on their secret rogue against the Virginia Tech's highlander priest.
Game 5: The Knights secured a win on their secret rogue against the Hokies' highlander hunter to secure the 3-2 series victory.
TESPA VARSITY INVITATIONAL
ARCADIA (A) 2, KENT STATE 3
Pregame: The 3-1 Knights took on 3-1 Kent State in a match that advanced the winner into the playoffs and the loser in a win-and-in scenario the following week.
Game 1: The Knights snuck a win in the priest mirror and jumped out to a 1-0 series lead.
Game 2: The Knights looked strong in game two on their secret rogue and defeated Kent State's enrage warrior.
Game 3: The Knights faltered in game three up against the enrage warrior of Kent State.
Game 4: The Knights dropped a close match against the Kent State priest deck and the series came down to a winner-take-all game five.
Game 5: Kent State completed the reverse sweep to take the series, 3-2. The Knights move to 3-2 in the varsity division and look to next week with their season on the line.

ARCADIA (B) 2, RANDOLPH-MACON 3
Game 1: The Knights dropped game one on their bomb warrior against RMC's weapon rogue.
Game 2: The Knights' bomb warrior battled back and got the win over the Yellow Jackets' quest druid.
Game 3: The face hunter followed suit for the Knights, getting the game three win.
Game 4: The Knights' demon hunter list came up short in the quest druid matchup.
Game 5: The winner-take-all game five saw the Knights fall one damage short against RMC's warlock deck, as Arcadia dropped the series, 3-2.
