GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia Esports Overwatch team opened its 2020-21 season Monday night with a 3-0 victory over Albright to begin the NACE fall schedule.
The Knights came out strong on the first control map in the series - Oasis - against Albright and managed to hold the point all the way from 0 - 100%, achieving a perfect round. The teamwork and coordination of
Jordyn Willis on her Mercy support pick and
Anthony Muscella on his Pharah DPS pick made the difference in the 2-0 victory to open the match.
On the escort map of Dorado, the Knights found themselves defending against Albright's attack and managed to stave them off before the Lions were able to escort the payload to the first checkpoint on the map. However, when the Knights began the attack of their own, they struggled to find their footing at first and were picked out a few times while struggling to push the payload. Eventually, they decided to switch their strategy and won the round, 1-0, thanks to Ronald Bolger's quick thinking to switch to Zarya on tank duty.
On the final hybrid map of King's Row, the Knights once again looked very dominant, only giving up one tick of the objective on defense and then quickly overcoming Albright on offense.
Paul Broccardi's ability to get picks with DPS characters Widowmaker and Ashe were the difference-makers in the 1-0, match-clinching victory.
