GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University Overwatch team continued its ECAC and NECC schedules this past week, notching a victory over Farmingdale while falling in close matches to CSU-Dominguez Hills and North Alabama.
NECC
ARCADIA 0, CSU-DOMINGUEZ HILLS 3
ECAC
ARCADIA 3, FARMINGDALE 0
Game 1: For the first game of the series, Farmingdale brought the Knights to control map Lijang where the Knights fought hard in a very back-and-forth map, but were eventually able to pull out the win on the final map thanks to an outstanding performance from
Patrick McCool on his Sombra pick.
Game 2: The second map choice from Farmingdale was Rialto, where the Knights fought hard to make it to the second checkpoint on attack, and were then able to muster an impressive hold on defense thanks largely in part to
Paul Broccardi generating pressure on his signature Ashe pick and
Logan Protonentis landing some crucial hooks on Roadhog.
Game 3: The third map choice from Farmingdale brought the Knights to Volskaya Industries, where the Knights were able to practically shut out Farmingdale, this time on the back of
James Hinkle and his Sigma tank pick leading the Knights to a 3-0 series win.
NECC
ARCADIA 0, NORTH ALABAMA 3
Game 1: On Ilios, the Knights were able to go back-and-forth in sequential fights with Alabama and took both Ilios maps to overtime with both teams at 99%, but unfortunately fell in the final fight to drop the map.
Game 2: The second map this week was King's Row, a favorite of many Overwatch players. The Knights struggled at the beginning but manged to hold North Alabama well at the end, and narrowly lost another map by merely a few meters.
Game 3: In game three, the Knights yet again looked solid against on Havana but yet again came up just short at the very end of the map, leading to a 3-0 series loss even though all of the maps were very close.
