Hearthstone Defeats Immaculata, Northwood in NACE Action

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University Hearthstone program locked up its first NACE playoff berth in team history with a pair of five-game wins over Immaculata and Northwood.

NACE
ARCADIA 1, ONTARIO 3

Game 1: The Knights fell early on their rogue deck vs the pure paladin deck of their opponents. After falling behind on board early the Knights were unable to fight back and fell to 1-0 in the series.

Game 2: The Knights rogue deck battled back in game 2 and secured the victory over the quest warlock of Ontario.

Game 3: Ontario Tech battled back strong in game 3 and secured a victory for their quest warlock list. Game 4: The Knights attempt to stay alive in the series failed as their highlander hunter was unable to secure the win over Ontario Techs bomb warrior.

ARCADIA 3, IMMACULATA 2
Game 1: The Knights fought to a hard earned victory in game one in a Paladin Mirror match. Smart play gave them the 1-0 series lead.

Game 2: Immaculata battled back in game two, securing a win with their soul demon hunter over the Knights very strong aggro rogue list.

Game 3: The Knights aggro rogue prevailed in game 3 over the paladin of Immaculata. This gave the Knights a 2-1 series lead and had them looking to close out the series in game 4.

Game 4: Immaculata would not go down without a fight, and off the back of a stellar starting hand they were able to take the game four victory over the Knights.

Game 5: Immaculata jumped our to an early start in game 5 with their face hunter. The Knights were all the way down to four hp when they drew the only card in their deck that kept them alive. The Knights then battled back and won in game 5 giving them the 3-2 series W and moving them to 4-1 in NACE play

ARCADIA 3, NORTHWOOD 2
Game 1: The Knights started shaky on their quest warlock deck, dropping a very winnable game one to the Highlander mage deck of Northwood.

Game 2: The Knights regrouped and came back stronger on their quest warlock getting a strong win over the Pure paladin of Northwood.

Game 3: Northwood battled back and got the game three win on their Pure paladin over the bomb warrior of the Knights.

Game 4: The Knights battled back in the series against Northwood's Galakrond warlock. They secured the game 4 victory with their bomb warrior. This brought the series to a winner take all game five.

Game 5: The Knights aggro rogue did not let them down in game five as it dealt over 20 damage on turn seven and secured the victory.

The Knights' Hearthstone squad locks up 2nd in their group and the first hearthstone NACE playoff birth in program history.
