Ya'Meer Thomas-Lowery Named Assistant Athletic Trainer

GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the hiring of Ya'Meer Thomas-Lowery as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Thomas-Lowery will begin his duties at Arcadia on September 16th.

"I am very excited to continue my career at Arcadia!," Thomas-Lowery explained. "Over the last two years I've learned so much and have gained many skills under the guidance of my Arcadia professors and mentors. Arcadia has opened doors I didn't think were possible and allowed me to showcase my talent in a variety of settings."

Thomas-Lowery joins the Knights after working toward his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Arcadia. While working towards his DPT, Thomas-Lowery gained clinical experience at Rutgers University, La Salle University, and Community Health and Dental Care in Pottstown.

"We are beyond thrilled to add Ya'Meer to our sports performance team," Associate Director of Athletics and Head Athletic Trainer Danielle Duffy explained. "We are fortunate to have a staff that's grown in size and skills over the years - we feel that Ya'Meer bringing his unique set of knowledge and skills to Glenside will only make us better. Steel sharpens steel - our goal and plan is to support our student-athletes at an even higher level than we have before."

Before gaining his DPT, Thomas-Lowery earned his Master of Science in Athletic Training from West Chester. During this time, Thomas-Lowery completed clinical work at Ursinus College, with the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders, and at Spring-Ford High School.

"I now get to share my experiences among the Arcadia community and do what I love to do which is be the catalyst for health and sports performance for Arcadia athletes!," Thomas-Lowery concluded.

Thomas-Lowery graduated from Albright with a degree in Biology in 2020. While in Reading, Thomas-Lowery was a four-year member of the Lions football program, serving as a captain during his junior and senior seasons.
