NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference announced its latest Swimmer of the Week awards, and Arcadia University junior Francis Andersen was named MAC Swimmer of the Week after leading the Knights to a 193–69 home victory over Stevenson on Friday afternoon.
Andersen posted three individual victories in the meet and helped secure a relay win to cap the afternoon. He opened his individual scoring with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 1:54.62 to narrowly edge teammate Braeden Wolf. Andersen followed that performance with a win in the 200-yard butterfly, recording a time of 2:07.27.
In his third individual event, Andersen claimed first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.09. He then closed the meet as the third leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay, joining Matthew Drake, Kajuan Haughton, and Christopher Stanaway to secure the event victory with a team time of 1:32.88. Andersen recorded a split of 23.51 during the relay.
The Knights return to the pool on Friday evening when they host Widener in a dual meet beginning at 6:00 p.m.
