The Arcadia University Department of Athletics & Recreation values its relationships with local organizations, and in recent years, many Arcadia student-athletes and staff have donated their time and energy to giving back to the community. Community service projects span over the course of the entire academic year. This year the commitment to community service continues.

August 26:
Field Hockey - Phillies Red Goes Green Recycling Initiative - 26 Student Athletes/2 coaches - 4 hour event - 112Â total hours
Members of the Arcadia field hockey team participated in the Phillies Red Goes Green recycling initiative. Â

Men's and Women's Golf - Sunnybrook Junior Clinic - 8 Student-Athletes - 15 Hours (3 hrs/day) - 120 total hours
Members of the Arcadia men's and women's golf teams assisted the staff at Sunnybrook Golf Club with their annual Junior Clinic aimed at golfers aged 6-13.
September 12:
Men's and Women's Swimming - Water safety and swim instruction clinic - 35 Student Athletes/2 coaches - 1.5 hour event - 55.5 total hours Â
The Arcadia men's and women's swimming teams hosted a free event to provide basic swim instruction and develop awareness for water safety.Â
September 14
Men's Volleyball - Octoberfest- 14 Student Athletes - 2 hour event - 28 total hours Â
The Arcadia men's volleyball team assisted with running Octoberfest.
September 15
Men's Volleyball - Octoberfest- 15 Student Athletes/1 coach - 2 hour event - 32 total hours Â
The Arcadia men's volleyball team assisted with running Octoberfest.
September 15
Men's Basketball -Â Daniel E Rumph II Foundation Free Heart Screening - 16 Student Athletes/3 coaches - 7 hour event - 133 total hours
The Arcadia men's basketball team assisted with set up, breakdown and registration as well as in other areas at the Daniel E. Rumph II Foundation Heart Screening. The event provided free heart screenings to youth ages 5-19.
Men's and Women's Tennis - Collection of Racquets for Cheltenham Youth Tennis - 19 Student Athletes/1 Coach - 20 hour event - 380 total hours
The Arcadia men's and women's tennis teams collected and restrung racquets, and donated them to children in the Cheltenham Youth Tennis program without raquets.
September 16:
Women's Basketball - 5K Stop, Drop & Run for the Glenside Fire Company . - 21 Student-Athletes/3 Coaches - 4 hour event - 96 Total Hours
The Arcadia University women's basketball team and coaches took part in the Glenside Fire Company's 5K Stop, Drop &Run to help raise money for the the Company, a volunteer-based outfit serving the community.Â
Men's and Women's Tennis -Â Rock and Roll Marathon - 19 Student Athletes/2 coaches - 126 total hours
The men's and women's tennis teams assisted with the water station at the Rock and Roll Marathon to set up over 20 tables and thousands of Gatorades for over 4000 runners. Two of which were Arcadia's own Zoe Foglia and Head Athletic Trainer Danielle Duffy.
September 26:
Women's Soccer -Â Cheltenham Youth Soccer Teams - 30 Student Athletes/3 coaches - 3 hour event - 99 total hours
The Arcadia women's soccer team sponsored Cheltenham Youth teams at its home game against Swarthmore on September 26. About 50 kids and adults attended from Cheltenham girls teams including; U9, U11, U12 and U14. Arcadia players walked out with the youth players during their pregame announcements.
October 4:
Women's Volleyball - ASA Halloween Dance - 4 student athletes - 3 hour event - 12 total hours
Members of the women's volleyball team helped run a dance for the special needs group.
October 6:
Women's Soccer -Â Youth night- 30 Student Athletes/3 coaches - 3 hour event - 99 total hours
Arcadia Women's Soccer sponsored a youth night on October 6 at 12 pm against Alvernia. Hunter soccer U11/12 attended the game and the players will walked them out for pregame announcements
October 20
Softball - Autism Speaks Walk of Greater Philadelphia - 16 student-athletes/1 coach - 6 hour event - 102 total hours
Team participated in the walk event as well as breaking down and cleaning up after the event.
October 23:
Athletics - Dome Setup - 141 student athletes - 1 hour event - 141 total hours
Members of Arcadia athletic teams assisted with setting up the indoor practice space, The Dome.
October 25
Arcadia SAACÂ - Bandana Day - 377 student-athletes - 1 hour event - 377 total hours
Students sold bandanas for $3 each and students wore them on October 25th. They raised $1,131 for the Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation, which raises money and awareness for teenagers and young people fighting cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

October 27:
Women's Lacrosse - Halloween 5K -12 student athletes/1 coach - 5 hour event - 65 total hoursÂ
Adoptive dogs were brought to the event where student athletes and coaches helped with set-up, parking, registration, and course marshaling the 5K course.
November 3
Men's Volleyball - 5k race - 12 student athletes - 5.5 hour event - 66 total hours
Members of the men's volleyball team helped run registration, set up and hand out water on the run for a 5k race.
November 10
Softball - Walk to End Alzheimers - 16 student-athletes/1 coach - 4.5 hour event - 81 total hours
Team worked registration tables and helped assist in all facets of the event.
November 29
Women's Lacrosse - ACCT Philly - 6 student athletes/1 coach - 2 hour event - 14 total hours
Members of the women's lacrosse team helped aid the animal shelter in basic day to day responsibilities.
December 1
Men's and Women's Golf - Rubyes Kids - 16 student athletes - 2 hour event - 32 total hoursÂ
16 men's and women's golf student-athletes participated with the Rubyes Kids organization to help package Holiday Gift bags for inner city Philadelphia students.
December 2
Men's Soccer - Soccer Clinic - 11 student athletes - 2 hour event - 22 total hours
11 men's soccer players assisted with an on-campus youth soccer clinic run by Arcadia Women's Soccer.
December 14
Women's Tennis - Holiday donations to families in need - 3 student-athletes/1 coach - 3 hour event - 12 total hours
The women's tennis program worked with FOX 29 Morning News and went down and surprised a family in need with a Christmas tree and gifts for their boys.Â
January 21
Men's and Women's Tennis - Community recycling event - 15 student-athletes, 1 coach - 3 hour event - 48 total hours
Members of the men's and women's tennis teams participated in a community recycling and shredding event.
Men's and Women's Golf - Community recycling event - 19 student-athletes, - 3 hour event - 57 total hours
Members of the men's and women's tennis teams participated in a community recycling and shredding event.
January 31
Softball - Cradles to Crayons - 18 student-athletes - 5 hour event - 90 hours
Team helps organize donated items at the local Cradles to Crayons warehouse which are eventually distributed to kids in need throughout the area.
February 2

National Girls and Women In Sports Day clinic was hosted at the Dome for girls aged 6 to 12 to promote athletics to young women.
February 16
Baseball - Mount Airy Little League Youth Clinic - 36 student-athletes - 4 coaches - 2 hour event - 80 total hours
Hosted a youth baseball clinic for the Mount Airy Little League teams in the Dome. Taught basic skill development to players in the local community.
March 18
Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Field Hockey, Men's Swimming, Women's Basketball, Cross Country - Dome Breakdown - 31 total hours
Members of the above teams assisted in breaking down the dome in preparation for the spring.

April 27
Men's and Women's Cross Country - Creek Pickup on the Wissahickon Trail - 13 student-athletes/2 coaches, - 2.5 hour event - 37.5 total hours
Members of the men's and women's cross country teams removed litter and waste from the Wissahickon Trail to protect the wildlife and preserve the trail.
April 30
Women's Field Hockey - Suicide Prevention Walk - 15 student-athletes/2 coaches, - 1 hour event - 17 total hours
Members of the field hockey team participated in a 1 mile walk for the Suicide Prevention Foundation
