Dorothy Germain Porter, who graduated in 1946, went on to a stellar amateur golf career. In 1949, she won the United States National Amateur Championship. In 1950, she represented the United States on the Curtis Cup Team, and in 1964 she was Captain of the Curtis Cup team.On her way to winning the U.S. National Senior Amateur Championships four times—in 1979, 80, 81 and 83, Dottie won the U.S. Western Championship (three times), the Eastern Championship, and state amateur championships in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In 1984, she was Captain of the World Team with the United States Golf Association, competing with three other teammates in Hong Kong.Dottie is an active alumna, serving as Class Editor for many years and contributing to Arcadia magazine.
